Bio: Kenojuak Ashevak: Female artist
(sculpture, drawings & prints) Born 1927,
resides in Cape Dorset, best known and prolific
printmaker. Her 1960
print "Enchanted Owl" sold at auction
at Waddingtons in Tor. in 2001 for $57,000.
She has been represented in almost every Cape
Dorset Print
Show since 1959 when Inuit printmaking began.
Her work is very much in demand. She has completed
several commissions for commercial
galleries in recent years, received many honours,
had her prints used for Can. stamps, has been
in several Inuit art books and also in an
early
National Film Board movie.
